Join Morris County Historical Society at The Westin Governor Morris for our first annual “History in Motion” Car Show.
Dozens of classic cars, muscle cars, antique cars, hot rods, and exotic cars, foreign and domestic, will be on display at this fundraiser to benefit MCHS and celebrate automotive history. Music will be provided by Denville’s Golden Gup from his custom pink 1965 Ford F-100. Next door, at Acorn Hall, attendees will see pieces from MCHS’s collection, including a spindle seat carriage, one-horse open sleigh, high-wheel bicycle, ice sled, and other historic pieces of personal transportation. Local historians and historical societies will also be on hand with exhibits and displays related to local history. Admission is free.
“As a car guy, I am excited to attend the History In Motion car show,” said Councilman Chris Russo. “Supporting the Morris County Historical Society is important, as their dedication to preserving our local heritage ensures that future generations can appreciate and learn from our rich history. This event not only showcases a diverse array of historical vehicles but also serves as a vital reminder of the stories and legacies that shape our community, reinforcing the importance of honoring our past as we move forward.”
MCHS Board Member Ryan Dawson added: “Morris County has so much great history and so many people who are passionate about it. I’m really looking forward to the History In Motion car show as a way to bring together people who enjoy automotive history with those who enjoy other aspects of history found across Morris County. The family-friendly day promises something for everyone, including a look at MCHS’s current exhibit highlighting local tavern culture.”
