In Loving Memory of Kathryn Koenig Cantore
April 8, 1956 – July 31, 2025
Peacefully and surrounded by her family, Kathryn Koenig Cantore passed away on July 31, 2025. Born in New Brunswick, NJ, on April 8, 1956, Kathryn grew up in Berkeley Heights and cherished summers spent with family in Ocean Beach, NJ.
Kathryn earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources from Rider University and went on to receive a master’s degree in Industrial Relations from the University of New Haven. She began her career as an executive recruiter before working in Human Resources for Tetley Tea and Reader’s Digest.
She enjoyed the outdoors—growing up as a sailor and surfer, and later becoming a skier, equestrian, and golfer. Her passion for animals led her to become an advocate for rescue organizations and she especially enjoyed obedience training with her beloved rescue dog, Petey.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life: gardening, interior design, visits with her cherished grandson Beau, and gathering with friends for Mahjong or walks around Oxford Greens. Her creativity and commitment enriched every community she touched.
Kathryn is survived by her devoted husband, Phillip Cantore of Oxford, CT; her daughter, Kelsey Cantore Graubart, son-in-law Jeffrey Graubart, and grandson Beau Graubart of Fairfield, CT; her son, Brian Cantore, and his fiancée, Jacqueline Barbaro, of Fairfield, CT; and her brother, Keith Koenig, and his husband, Daniel Blumenfeld, of Farmingdale, NJ.
She was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Dorothy (Dowling) Koenig of Point Pleasant, NJ, and her brother, Kenneth Koenig of Brick, NJ.
Her legacy of laughter and love will live on in all who knew her.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
