Westport Country Playhouse Announcing our 2025-2026 Season!

Arts and Entertainment

June 19, 2025

From: Westport Country Playhouse

As we celebrate the Westport Country Playhouse’s 94th year, I want to thank you for being part of this remarkable chapter in our theatre’s history. Whether you’ve been coming for generations or you’ve only recently set foot through our doors for the first time, your presence is what gives this theater its heartbeat.

Over the course of last season, I’ve loved hearing your thoughts in our many conversations out on the porch. And it was a joy to feel the lobby abuzz as you connected with each other before each curtain. That shared sense of excitement and enthusiasm for the Playhouse helped guide the choices I’ve made for our new season - a collection of stories meant to uplift, inspire, challenge, and remind us just how powerful it is to come together for a night of live theatre.

We're excited to announce our 2025-2026 season and say that subscriptions are now available for purchase in person at box office and online starting Wednesday, June 18.

This year, we’re expanding our calendar and inviting you to experience full productions throughout the year at the Playhouse. With three full mainstage productions and three shorter-run add-on events, there’s truly something for everyone - comedy, mystery, music, and heart.

I look forward to welcoming you back to the Playhouse throughout the year as our new season delivers unforgettable storytelling. Take your favorite seat, bring a friend, and get ready to be transported.

Calendar Updates

We heard you when you said you missed theater in the summer, so we’re expanding our calendar and inviting you to experience full productions throughout the year at the Playhouse. We shifted our 2025-2026 season to begin in the fall and extend through next August.

The Importance of Being Earnest

October 28 - November 15, 2025

Oscar Wilde’s most iconic-and most subversively brilliant-comedy comes to dazzling life on our stage. This razor-sharp, frothy satire skewers the British upper class with incisive wit and surprising emotional depth. Beneath the mistaken identities and romantic entanglements lies a potent exploration of truth, illusion, and self-knowledge. Wilde’s gift for language and outrageous humor is on full display in this joyously theatrical masterpiece. This fall, get Wilde at the Playhouse!
